KITF TRAVEL PARK: HOSPITALITY OF ALL KAZAKHSTAN ON A SINGLE PLATFORM

For two weeks, Almaty became the center of attraction for the tourist community throughout Kazakhstan - from July 25 to August 8, KITF Travel Park was successfully held at the Atakent Exhibition Center.

KITF Travel Park has become a truly innovative project in the event industry world, managing to cover and become of interest to both business audiences and citizens planning their holidays in the various parts of Kazakhstan. The Project’s Main Goal is to support the tourism industry in these challenging times, and to develop domestic tourism through an exposition reflecting the entire rich potential of our country.1

The KITF Tourism Exhibition Team coped with the challenge; all 14 participating regions, using individually designed stands, demonstrated the beauty and attractions of their region, presented new tourist destinations and shared their experiences with tourism industry professionals from other regions.

The participants noted the importance and timeliness of such a project. “Despite the difficult situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic, Iteca has successfully coped with the task of promoting domestic tourism in Kazakhstan. The representatives of the regions express their gratitude to all the organizers of this bright, creative and unforgettable event in the tourism sector of the countries” said Batyrkhanov Shynarbek Berkutbaevich, Chairman of the Tourism and Recreation Industry Association of Akmola Region.2

In recent years, there has been a steady trend of increasing public interest towards Kazakhstan's tourist destinations, which was especially evident during the pandemic and the closure of international flights. Kazakhstan people are more and more interested in possibilities of environmental, ethnographic, sanatorium-resort and other kinds of tourism. At the same time, the requirements for the quality of services are growing as well. The content of the three-day KITF Travel Park Business Program was dedicated to eco-friendly and safe tourism, popularization of gastro-, agro- and ecotourism and the means of further development of guest houses and hotels, glamping and caravanning.3

Development of domestic and inbound tourism is one of the priority trends of the state policy. In order to jointly implement a unified state policy in the field of tourism development, tourist tours and seminars that extend the list of the Great Silk Road, the regions have worked vigorously and signed several cooperation memorandums. During the project, the cooperation memorandums between Visit Shymkent Tourist Information Center and the Department of Tourism of the Pavlodar Region, Visit Almaty Information Center and the Tourist Information Center of Akmola Region were signed.

Holding the Expo Outdoors in strict compliance with all health and epidemiological norms allowed the maximum safety for participants and guests, and most importantly, in a format of long-awaited live communication offered an opportunity to discuss the prospects for further development of tourism in the new realities and effectively promote the interest of Kazakhstanis and visitors to the domestic tourism product4

The project was organized by Iteca Kazakhstani Exhibition Company. Official support was provided by: Kazakh Ministry of Culture and Sports, NC Kazakh Tourism JSC, Visit Almaty, Kazakhstan Tourist Association, and Atakent Exhibition Centre.
